Requirements summary

The Pregnancy Outreach worker (POW) will support primarily women who are low medical risk and high social risk. The POW will work with women who are experiencing or have experienced violence and abuse, who may be struggling with substance use and or mental wellness, who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or unsafely housed, involved in street-level sex work, criminalized, newly arrived to Canada, and women from communities that are hard to reach because of social, cultural or economic barriers. The POW’s primary responsibility is supporting the woman, to support her pregnancy. A compassionate pro-choice orientation is required.</p> <p>Please note: This program serves individuals who identify and live full time as women, including those who have experienced gender based violence and misogyny.</p> <p>To ensure a safe, accessible, trauma informed, and culturally responsive environment for residents, this position requires staff who identify and live full time as women.
