Options Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering social services across the Southern Fraser region (Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley) from early childhood to seniors. Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community.

Position overview

  • Additionally, you'll contribute to program development, maintain professional growth, and engage clients in activities.

  • Your role also involves light housekeeping, reporting on client progress, and addressing health and safety issues as they arise.
  • Qualifications

    The ideal candidate for this position should have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience, including a Mental Health Worker/Residential Care Aide certificate. Required certifications include Level I First Aid and FoodSafe. A Medication Administration Certificate is an asset. Candidates must hold an unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License, have access to a reliable vehicle for work, and lived experience relevant to the service setting is considered beneficial.

    • Successful candidate will possess strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • They should have a firm understanding of harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches, and demonstrate effective crisis de-escalation skills.
    • Experience working with individuals facing substance misuse or untreated mental illness is essential, along with knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation practices and program policies.
    • Proficiency in relevant software, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the physical ability to perform job duties are required.
    • Additionally, the candidate should be capable of observing client changes and facilitating group activities.

    The schedule for this role is from 03

    00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Saturday-Sunday.

    This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.

    *An eligibility list may be maintained for up to six months. Eligible applicants may be offered a casual position.
