A PSW Program Certificate or Diploma is an asset, and candidates must be able to read and write English. Additional requirements include a negative vulnerable sector check and a 2-step TB skin test.
$19.23/ hour Position: Retirement Aid Status: Part Time (PT) Schedule: Evening Shifts (1:00pm-9:00pm) Southbridge Care Homes provides exceptional acquisition, management, and redevelopment services for long-term care homes and retirement communities across Ontario. Reports to: Director of Care Retirement Aid provides direct personal and nursing care to residents to fulfil the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs of residents in accordance to home polices, procedure and work routines. Key Responsibilities: Assist in providing direct care for residents Provide emotional and social support to residents/families, including palliative care Work with multi-disciplinary team members to meet the needs of residents Support your team! Knowledge and Skills Required: PSW Program Certificate or Diploma is an asset but not required Has passion and heart for providing quality care Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation required Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents and families Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation required Mentally and physically able to perform duties as assigned Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents and families Demonstrates empathy, concern and interest in providing quality care and service to residents Demonstrates organizational skills and ability to complete assignments in a timely fashion Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to provide resident care in accordance with application legislation, job routines, nursing care plans, ability to read and write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English. Additional Requirements include A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date. Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.
