About the opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for one (1) Registered Practical Nurse to join our Inpatient team on a regular, part-time basis (OPSEU bargaining unit). This role is ideal for RPNs with experience in acute medicine, mental health, or emergency departments who are passionate about harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and health equity.
Hours of Work
12 hour shifts (both days and nights required). Up to thirty (30) hours scheduled weekly. This is a fully on-site position.
More specifically, your responsibilities in this role will entail, but are not restricted to:
Deliver direct client care to clients with complex medical conditions, including HIV, substance use, mental health challenges, and co-morbidities.
Perform assessments, administered medication, monitor vital signs, and provide wound care.
Collaborate with Registered Nurses, Physicians, and allied health professionals to develop, implement, and evaluate individual care plans.
Supports clients through medical interventions, crisis stabilization, and transitions in care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with professional standards.
Engage in reflective practice, performance evaluation, and continuous learning.

About you
In order to qualify for this role, you will need to be actively registered in good standing as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as well as a minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
The following qualifications will ensure your success in this role
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing.
Minimum of 2 years recent experience in acute care, emergency, or medical-surgical nursing preferred.
Knowledge of HIV, substance use, mental health, and trauma-informed care.
Excellent physical assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Proficiency in electronic documentation; EPIC experience is an asset.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
Familiarity with community resources and commitment to person centered care.
Ability to provide health education tailored to client/family learning needs.
Experience working with marginalized populations and commitment to anti-oppressive practice.
Competency in a variety of clinical skills including(but not limited to), intramuscular injections, intravenous therapy, blood collection, wound care dressing, medication administration, etc.
Excellent attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct record.
