The Dietitian provides safe and ethical professional nutrition care to patients, families, and the community within an orthopedic clinic. They collaborate with an inter-professional team to support nutritional health through treatment, disease prevention, and rehabilitation.
Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition/Dietetics, completion of a dietetic internship, and registration with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association. Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of recent experience in acute care or community settings.

The dietitian advises on nutrition and food using the nutrition care process in achieving patient/client centered care. The dietitian is part of the inter-professional team and is responsible to provide leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of the patient, client/community through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support and rehabilitation.
As a member of the inter-professional team the dietitian contributes to client care through collaboration with health care team providers, sharing nutrition expertise, ensuring quality and continuity of care and supporting a range of health care services. These services are provided within a holistic, client centered framework in accordance with our mission, vision, values, and strategic direction. About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Bachelor’s of Science degree with major in Nutrition/Dietetics Three (3) to five (5) years' recent related experience in an acute care/community setting Completion of an approved Dietetic internship Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association (NSDA) is required Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada Demonstrated accountability Demonstrated judgment and decision making skills Strong client focus and ability to build solid client/practitioner relationships Demonstrated communication and conflict resolution skills Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork skills Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation Demonstrated leadership abilities Demonstrated planning, organization and time management skills Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices and organizational health Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
