Perform routine, urgent, and stat specimen testing within a computerized and automated Core Laboratory. Additional duties include teaching, training, method evaluation, and managing quality assurance and safety projects.
Must have a Medical Laboratory Technology degree from an accredited Canadian institution and CSMLS certification. Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) is required.
The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) provides routine, urgent and stat specimen testing in a fully computerized and highly automated Core Laboratory setting. The Medical Laboratory Technologist will perform a variety of laboratory procedures accurately, efficiently and safely while maintaining quality control and prioritizing workload. In addition to specimen testing the MLT will perform additional tasks as required. These include but are not limited to: teaching, training, method evaluation, technical writing, quality assurance projects and safety projects.
Successfully complete a course of study in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited Canadian Institution Successfully complete the examinations set by the Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Sciences to obtain Registered Technologist status (CSMLS) Up-to-date registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO). Demonstrated ability to interact with patients, families and other members of the health care team in an effective, professional, caring manner Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
