Responsibilities
Assisting clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
Assisting clients with instrumental activities of daily living such as light housekeeping, meal preparation
Monitoring and reporting any changes in the client's condition to the healthcare team
Providing assistance with mobility and transferring patients safely
Supporting patients with eating and drinking, adhering to dietary requirements
Assisting with medication reminders and medication administration under supervision
Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients
Providing emotional support and companionship to patients and their families
Qualifications
Compassionate and empathetic demeanour
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset.
Professional proficiency in Cantonese is required to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
Requirements
Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program
Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare setting (minimum 1 year)
Negative TB test completed in the past 90 days
A negative Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days
Certification in CPR and First Aid (preferred)
Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
