The Social Work Resource Specialist (Bilingual French/English) works with clients whose primary healthcare needs can be met by linking clients and families to appropriate resources e.g. housing, transportation, income, medications. Essential components of this role are collaboration with the social worker, other healthcare team members, government and community-based and private agencies/organizations that provide these resources. The Social Work Resource Specialist (Bilingual French/English) will serve as a consultant/educator to clients/families and healthcare providers regarding resources. Please note: this position will support the Emergency Department located within the Halifax Infirmary.About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
Bachelors of Social Work Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers Two years of relevant clinical experience required Proficiency in English and French required Proficiency in understanding organizational and program policies and procedures Expert knowledge of resources Establish partnership and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders both within the organization and the community Demonstrates strong computer skills including data entry, word processing, electronic communication, spreadsheets and databases Program Evaluation skills Outstanding communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
