Support individuals with acquired brain injuries in an assisted living setting to live independently. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, medication monitoring, and developing essential life skills.
Requires a diploma in behavioral sciences or a related field with one year of experience working with brain injuries or substance use. Must possess a Class 5 driver's license, personal transportation, and a clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check.
Casual employees must be available for at least 21 shifts per month in which seven are overnight shifts. If you are working full-time, or if you are a full-time student, we ask you for 15 shifts of availability per month in which five are overnight shifts (this is subject to employer or enrollment proof).
Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check Ability to successfully complete a character reference check Ability to provide a record of work history Current Emergency First Aid Certificate (please refer to the Certificates accepted in B.C. - WorkSafeBC) Proof of vaccination for communicable diseases may be required as mandated by Government, Health Authority, and/or funder requirements Evidence of compliance with the province’s immunization and tuberculosis control programs Class 5 driver’s license Personal transportation that is in good repair, insured for business up to $1,000,000 for liability, and which can be used to transport residents COMPENSATION As Connective is a unionized environment, the starting wage is $25.95 plus 10.6% in lieu of statutory and vacation pay.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.
