The Licensed Practical Nurse provides high-quality nursing care, emotional support, and monitoring for long-term care residents. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop care plans, administer medications, and ensure a safe, respectful environment.
Candidates must have graduated from a recognized Practical Nurse program and hold current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. A current basic cardiac life support certification is also required.

Your Day to Day Provide safe and respectful nursing care, adhering to established policies, individualized care plans, and priorities Conduct thorough assessments, monitor signs/symptoms, and communicate with the RN/RPN as needed Prepare patients for procedures, transfers, and admissions, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team Administer medications per protocol, monitor effects, and maintain communication with the team Utilize evidence-based resources to stay updated on nursing practices Respond to incidents such as codes, injuries, spills, and alarms, following procedures Assist with staff orientation, demonstrating procedures and providing support Address patient/resident and family learning needs, provide educational materials, and make referrals Attend care planning meetings, provide input, and advocate for patients/residents Collaborate with the team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans Assist with discharge planning based on patient status and external supports Operate and clean equipment, report malfunctions, and handle hazardous materials.
