Position Summary
Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Clerk to support the Interprofessional Team department. In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Site Coordinator or designate, this position performs a variety of administrative support functions; performs reception duties and answers general inquiries related to programs and policies for Stewart Health Centre. Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 12:00 to 17:00 Stewart Located at the head of Portland Canal, a steep, narrow ocean fjord that forms a natural border between British Columbia and Alaska is the community of Stewart. This is one of the most spectacular spots in BC, with its towering snow-capped mountains and hanging glaciers of Bear Pass. The population of Stewart is approximately 500 people. The major industries are logging, mining and tourism. There are four elementary schools, one middle school, one secondary school, and two post-secondary schools. Grade 12 plus one (1) year of office experience in a health care setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Skills and Abilities:
Able to type 50 wpm.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to liaise with other departments in the Health Centre.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to organize and prioritize.
Knowledge of general office procedures.
Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients and have an interest in working with small children and their families.
Experience with office equipment such as photocopier, fax machine, scanner and calculator.
Computer training and experience; working knowledge of related computer programs.
Accurate word processing skills with at least 50 wpm.
