The MRI Technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures using in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and protocols to produce high-quality diagnostic images. Key duties include patient preparation, operating and maintaining MRI equipment, monitoring patients, administering contrast media, and ensuring adherence to all safety and regulatory standards.
Candidates must have successfully completed a recognized post-diploma MRI program or equivalent with certification, and be registered with the CMRITO in good standing. Required qualifications also include current CPR/BLS, contrast injection, cross-sectional anatomy certification, and a minimum of 1-3 years of MRI scanning experience, preferably on 1.5T and 3.0T platforms.
Reporting to the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging, the MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures utilizing in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, MRI principles, and imaging protocols. The role requires independent judgment, technical skill, and critical thinking to safely and efficiently operate MRI equipment and produce high-quality diagnostic images for the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of injury and disease. The technologist ensures patient safety, comfort, and care throughout the imaging process and adheres to all regulatory and organizational standards.
• Participate in all mandatory training requirements and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Schroeder Ambulatory Centre Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines
