Acclaim Health is currently hiring Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide community-based care across Oakville. Successful candidates must be available to work a minimum of two weekdays and every other weekend (both Saturday and Sunday). Available shifts include morning shifts from 7:00AM to 3:00PM and evening shifts from 3:00PM to 11:00PM.

CA$22.29- $23.39 per hour.

Provides homemaking and personal support services to individuals and families in the community and retirement home settings.
Assist clients with their personal care and activities of daily living to clients, including bathing; grooming; dressing; mouth care; and checking skin integrity.
Collaborates with members of the health care team, the homemaking and personal support services team and family in decision-making regarding planning.
Provides bedside care in retirement homes as directed by the Nurse or otherwise directed by Supervisor.
Assist with the maintenance of catheter and colostomy bags when required.
Performs light housekeeping, including cleaning of clients personal laundry and bedding when required as part of the care plan.
Position requirements
Personal Support Worker Certificate or Diploma
Valid Ontario Driver’s license and insurance
Current CPR certificate
Current TB test
Palliative Experience is an asset
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
Ability to use mechanical equipment (hoyer lifts) when required
Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Effective observation and listening skills
