As a Registered Nurse, the role involves organizing and coordinating personal care services to meet individual and group needs while assuming responsibility for critical clinical tasks like medication administration, treatment application, and physician order transcription. The RN will also guide the healthcare team, promote resident-centered care, and assess personal care needs.
Applicants must hold current certification of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and a current Medication Certificate meeting college standards, along with at least one year of experience in a long-term care facility with an interest in gerontology. Post-graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration are considered an asset, and candidates must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and a two-step TB test.
