The Float Nurse will travel regionally to provide expert coverage for staffing shortages within a designated territory, focusing on patients undergoing opioid agonist treatment. Key duties include performing on-site visits to assist, support, complete bloodwork, ECGs, and administer delegated medications like methadone and suboxone.
Candidates must have a Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and be a member in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario. Essential requirements include the ability to travel, access to a personal vehicle, and current First Aid and CPR Certification.

The Float Nurse will travel regionally with the flexibility to work within a delegated model for patients on opioid agonist treatment within a clinic environment. The Float Nurse will be utilized as expert coverage for staffing shortages within a designated territory. The Float Nurse will participate in regular on-site visits to assist, support and complete bloodwork, ECGs and immunizations will be a critical part of the role.
