Deliver therapeutic, recreational, and social activities to support the physical and mental well-being of patients and residents. Collaborate with interdisciplinary Allied Health teams to implement care plans and document patient progress.
Requires Grade 12 education and completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must possess strong communication skills and the physical ability to perform rehabilitation duties.

Your Day to Day: Plan and deliver engaging group and individual activities (e.g., exercise, ambulation, self-care training, art, and music) in consultation with therapists to meet residents' and patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs. Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including range-of-motion exercises and mental aerobics, to promote overall well-being. Demonstrate activity techniques and effectively communicate plans with interdisciplinary team members. Promptly report any changes in patient or resident conditions to the designated therapist. Plan and conduct group interventions using diverse approaches to address physical, social, cultural, and psychological needs. Coordinate, prepare, and supervise patient or resident outings to ensure safety both inside and outside the facility. Document observations and client status accurately on charts, flow sheets, or incident reports to support continuous care. Maintain and clean equipment, assist with minor adjustments to wheelchairs and walkers, and manage inventory in accordance with departmental procedures. Assist in orienting new residents, patients, staff, and volunteers by introducing them to facility programs and activities. Fabricate adaptive devices under therapist guidance and contribute to a stimulating, seasonally relevant environment that encourages active participation.
