Overview
Provide personal care to clients in accordance with administrative policies and recognized nursing principles. Participate in the activation process to promote clients’ physical, social, and emotional well-being. Observe and report significant changes in clients’ physical and emotional condition; document in PCC. Assist residents with activities of daily living including laundry, housekeeping, oxygen tank filling as needed, personal care, bathing, weights, and stockings as required. Provide meal assistance including meal service, clean up, and reset. Maintain professional work ethics and effective working relationships with employees, clients, families, and community stakeholders. Provide input into development and revision of policies and procedures related to Quality Risk Management programs; complete fall and incident reporting in PCC. Effectively utilize electronic systems provided. Maintain a safe environment and follow safe work practices and procedures. Respond immediately to client emergencies and the emergency response system; assess and acquire assistance from registered staff if necessary. Input into client care plan and assessment and complete required documentation in PCC. Assist with orientation of new staff members and students. Participate in educational in-services, identify personal and group educational needs, and set work-related goals with the Supervisor. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable privacy legislation. Perform other duties as assigned, including redeployment in emergency situations.
