Overview
Provide mental health and addictions nursing services in an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) or intensive outreach team. Deliver core services including assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and support for clients in partnership with clients, families, and community health resources. Develop, plan, implement, and maintain clinical services and client-centered rehabilitation programs based on identified client rehabilitation plans. Provide services primarily in community settings, with possible facility-based services as required. Administer and monitor side effects of psychotropic medications. Use the nursing process to assess physical, mental/physiological/functional, and environmental factors; plan, implement, decide, organize, prioritize, evaluate, and communicate as required. Provide crisis intervention and behavioral management, including non-violent crisis intervention techniques where appropriate. Manage aggressive behaviour using appropriate techniques. Work independently in the community while collaborating effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Operate applicable computer systems and related equipment
