Overview
Provide occupational therapy services to children and youth within a tertiary mental health service. Conduct screening, assessment, and intervention under general supervision of another Occupational Therapist and within a multidisciplinary team. Use trauma-informed, strengths-based, recovery philosophy to support psychosocial rehabilitation and optimal health outcomes. Deliver psycho-education and provide consultation/resources and education to clients, caregivers, and community partners. Provide information to clients and families about access to community resources to support continuity of service. Participate in ongoing development of group therapy components by facilitating child and adolescent groups. Practice in accordance with professional standards of practice and code of ethics (College of Health and Care Professionals of BC) and within a client and family centered care model. Travel between multiple sites may be required and transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements
