Conduct screening, assessment, and intervention under general supervision of another Occupational Therapist and within a multidisciplinary team.
Use trauma-informed, strengths-based, recovery philosophy to support psychosocial rehabilitation and optimal health outcomes.
Deliver psycho-education and provide consultation/resources and education to clients, caregivers, and community partners.
Provide information to clients and families about access to community resources to support continuity of service.
Participate in ongoing development of group therapy components by facilitating child and adolescent groups.
Practice in accordance with professional standards of practice and code of ethics (College of Health and Care Professionals of BC) and within a client and family centered care model.
Travel between multiple sites may be required and transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements
Requirements summary
Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy.
Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as an Occupational Therapist.
Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
Minimum two (2) years of recent experience in a mental health setting working with children and adolescents.
Knowledge of developmental issues and theories related to mental illness for the client population.
Broad knowledge of COTBC standards of practice and clinical practice guidelines.
Demonstrated clinical competency in occupational therapy theory and practice.

Provides information to clients and families regarding access to community resources in order to facilitate an effective continuum of service and participates in ongoing development of group therapy component of the program by facilitating child and adolescent groups. Travel may be a requirement of this position.
