Overview
Perform quality control checks on payroll data prior to pay period cutoff and update/correct payroll data as required.. Extract payroll/timekeeping data (daily and bi-weekly), run error validation reports, and correct/distribute errors for follow-up.. Conduct comprehensive quality control checks comparing payroll system data to HR-provided information and established policies.. Generate and submit verified time entry and payroll system data for approval; upload approved data files to the payroll system.. Run, prepare, and distribute verified payroll reports for Finance and other departments; generate upload files and cheques within deadlines.. Verify completion of pay cycle processing and submit processing checklists for approval/signoff.. Perform off-cycle pay processing for retroactive/arrears earnings, deductions, benefits leave of absence hours, and service/leave plan adjustments; coordinate with Customer Service Teams.. Assist with user acceptance testing for system changes by running processes in a test database and referring results for analysis/approval.. Assist with development and deployment of new/revised processes, including documentation and updating procedure manuals.. Generate electronic payroll data files for bank deposits and Canada Savings Bonds and export approved files to external systems.. Answer internal/external inquiries related to payroll information, pay period dates, cheque distribution, earnings codes, leave balances, deductions, and benefits.. Respond to timekeeping department queries about system interfaces and payroll coding; refer unresolved issues to leadership.. Assist with staff orientation on time entry interfaces and payroll system processes/updates.. Respond to payroll data variance questions by reviewing payroll system data and communicating findings.
