Position Summary
The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre program provides world-class cardiovascular care. One of the largest programs of its kind in North America, we are a major referral centre. Our program offers resources and expertise prepared to deal with even the most complex patient cases.
Our multidisciplinary team includes physicians, surgeons, nurses, pharmacists, dieticians and other allied health professionals with special training in cardiac and vascular conditions and its treatment. Each year, our innovative surgery techniques and outstanding cardiology interventions attract hundreds of visiting professors and trainees from around the globe.
The Outpatient Cardiac Clinic provides a variety of cardiac assessment, diagnosis, and management services to patients. We are made up of many different clinics, and each clinic offers a specific cardiac service.
Duties
Manages patient identification, preparation, and safety to ensure accuracy prior to examination, and maintaining confidentiality Executes all cardiac testing procedures such as recording ECGs, stress testing, gas analysis and ambulatory BP monitoring in alignment with CSCT standards Works collaboratively with physicians to provide patient intake medical assessments Collects and documents patient information in the electronic patient record (Epic) efficiently and accurately Analyzes tests to create summarized preliminary reports for physicians Confirms all quality control assessments as required Ensure emergency equipment is ready for use at all times Works in alignment with best practices, related policies, and the health and safety legislation, and consider all reasonable precautions Complies to UHN’s standards and procedures for appropriate equipment maintenance Manages the efficiency and effectiveness of equipment and instrument performance Supports learners in the clinical environment
