The Health Care Aide provides clinical care and support to patients on the F3- CTU Medicine unit to maintain or improve their functional status. They are responsible for collaborating with hospital departments and performing tasks using appropriate body mechanics.

Personal Support Worker or Health Care Aide Certificate or nursing student with successful completion of all level 2 course at McMaster University or nursing student with successful completion of all level 2 courses in the McMaster-Mohawk-Conestoga collaborative Nursing Program 2.
2 years Clinical Health Care Aide experience preferred 3.
Computer familiarity or willingness to learn computer skills as required 4.
Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, teamwork skills 5.
Demonstrated initiative and judgment appropriate for the position 6.
Ability to accept assignment or delegated functions 7.
Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly 8.
Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively 9.
Ability to left using appropriate techniques and bend, push and pull using good body mechanics
Candidates must hold a Personal Support Worker or Health Care Aide certificate, or be a nursing student who has completed level 2 courses. Two years of clinical experience is preferred, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
