About the role

The Senior Laboratory Technologist performs routine and special microbiology tests while coordinating day-to-day operations. They also act as a technical resource for the department and clinical areas to ensure quality control and operational efficiency.

The Senior Laboratory Technologist performs a variety of laboratory tests and duties in accordance with the HRLMP policies and procedures. These include but are not exclusive to the performance of routine and special microbiology tests, review of quality control and coordination of day-to-day operations of Microbiology. Acts as a resource for the Microbiology Department, clinical areas and other departments throughout the HRLMP.

1.

Current member of the College of Laboratory Technologists of Ontario with certification in Microbiology 2.

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Technology 3.

Current Microbiology experience 4.

Extensive knowledge and advanced technical expertise of Microbiology practices including molecular diagnostic technology 5.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications would be an asset 6.

Excellent communication skills 7.

Ability to work in and foster a team environment

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science or Technology degree and be a certified member of the College of Laboratory Technologists of Ontario. Extensive experience in microbiology and proficiency in molecular diagnostic technology are required.
