About the role

The Laboratory Technologist will perform specimen collection and processing, as well as testing in hematology, chemistry, and transfusion science. The role requires working independently in a core lab setting while maintaining high standards of patient-centered care.

July 7th, 2026 What we are looking for: Ability to work independently in a core lab setting in the disciplines of Specimen Collection and Processing, Hematology, Chemistry and Transfusion Science make you the perfect candidate for this position. The successful candidate enjoys working in a team-orientated environment, and has excellent technical, communication, leadership and customer service skills. What you bring to the role: Member of the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario General Certification in Medical Laboratory Technology from the CSMLS Experience in a core laboratory setting including phlebotomy skills and ECG are assets. Proficient computer skills Experience with a Laboratory Information System - Meditech experience is ideal Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic multi-tasking laboratory Familiarity with Ontario Laboratory Accreditation Requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to work well within a team and take leadership role when called upon Strong customer service focus and job commitment Demonstrates a positive and professional outlook in a rapidly changing environment Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required Work Schedule: Mon-Sun including Days, Evenings, Nights, Week Ends and Holidays. 8 hours shifts Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.

Compensation

  • UOPS 07
  • Range: $36.84 - $50.24

Requirements

Candidates must be members of the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario and hold a General Certification in Medical Laboratory Technology from the CSMLS. Proficiency in laboratory information systems and strong technical, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
