For Community Health Nurse position that is full time and permanent, recruitment bonuses include: $5,000 on start date, $5,000 at 18 months of service and $10,000 at 30 months of service. Additional premiums include a $9,000 Annual Frontline Allowance and a $375 Monthly Retention Bonus of $4,500 per year. For Job shares, salary, bonuses/allowances are pro-rated in accordance with hours worked.

As an Indeterminate or Job Share Community Health Nurse you will earn a Tier Two $15/hour premium allowance as the position is located in Kugluktuk.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Health Programs, the Community Health Nurse (CHN) assists clients in promotion, protection and restoration of health, to educate about, prevent and reduce the incidence of disease, disability and death. The incumbent provides a comprehensive community health service in conjunction with the health care team and works within the context of Primary Health care to improve the capacity of clients to adapt to, respond to or control, life’s challenges, and changes.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Nursing degree and have at least one year of experience in an acute care clinical setting. Applicants must be eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut and possess valid CPR certification.
