Reporting to the supervisor, and under the general supervision of a radiologist, the MI Generalist Sonographer performs general ultrasound examinations. Duties include receiving and completing requisitions, forms and reports; preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment; patient monitoring; and operating ultrasound equipment, including preparing and presenting patient data to radiologist.
Graduation from an approved Ultrasound Technologist Diploma program..
Sonography Canada and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers certification credentials as a Generalist Sonographer..
One year of recent, related experience in a health care setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience..
Eligible for registration with Sonography Canada..
Ability to organize and coordinate workload, establish priorities, work independently and in a multidisciplinary team, problem solve, operate computerized systems, communicate effectively, and perform the physical duties of the position.
