Reports to the Nurse Manager, Department Head, or designate. Plans and provides direct nursing care to patients/residents in the hospital or in the community in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and the BC College of Nurses and Midwives Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.
Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing registered nurse.
Up to two years of recent related experience depending on the clinical setting.
Specialty certification for specialty unit nurse positions.
Demonstrated arrhythmia interpretation ability for Heart Health nurse positions, including a minimum 75% score on the VIHA ECG Challenge exam.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to organize workload, set priorities, and work effectively with internal and external contacts.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
Criminal Record Check required.
