Act as a member of the client care team by performing trauma-informed clerical duties supporting unit operations.
Provide receptionist functions including supporting visitors and clients, answering telephones, and routing inquiries.
Maintain client paper charts and records in PAC, including admission documentation, record creation, labeling, filing, and discharge completion.
Prioritize, process, and transcribe physicians’ orders and confirm completion prior to RN/RPN initialing.
Take minutes of unit meetings and distribute to staff after Manager review.
Perform staffing functions such as roster changes, vacation rosters, ward timesheet absence recording, and bring-forward system setup.
Arrange outpatient bookings and appointments in collaboration with consult services.
Coordinate client transportation for discharge, transfer, appointments, and outings with BC Corrections Staff and BC Ambulance Service.
Coordinate fax transmittal and distribute received material.
Receive, record, and transmit test results/medical information to physicians, nursing staff, and others.
Compile and distribute designated materials via centralized printing and duplication services.
Maintain unit stationery levels and facilitate equipment maintenance through requisitions and forms.
Prepare and maintain statistics and other information as directed by the Manager, including data entry and report generation.
Coordinate discharge information/medication needs with other clinical staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned
