The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care and medical support to patients with malignant hematological conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. They also lead patient education, participate in clinical research, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
The Nurse Practitioner – Adult will work in partnership with the medical specialists and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide advanced nursing care and perform medical acts to support a population of patients with malignant hematological problems, on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
The Nurse Practitioner will also play a significant role in the education and counseling of patients and families, and in research activities related to the refinement of evidence-based practice. The NP provides direct patient care about 80%25 of the time, and participates in patient population related education, research/quality improvement initiatives and consultation activities the remainder of the time.

Completion of a Master's Degree in Nursing or a recognized equivalent graduate program.

Current certification of registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in extended class category.

Minimum of 5 years recent clinical nursing experience in stem cell and bone marrow transplant activity.
