About the role

The Personal Support Aide monitors and assists clients with daily living activities to help them maintain independence in their own homes. Duties include light housekeeping, companionship, and providing support with personal grooming and recreational activities.

We are currently hiring a Casual Personal Support Aide to join our new AbleLiving Community program in the East Hamilton area.

This location is accessible by public transit.This program operates 24/7.

Must be avalaible to work day shifts from 8:00am-6:00pm and afternoon shifts from 11:00am-9:00pm.

AbleLiving Services is a non-profit organization providing personal support services to adults with disabilities living within their own home or one of our independent living facilities.

Our clients direct and customize the services they receive and we support them to maximize their independence and enhance their quality of life.

We provide services across the Golden Horseshoe in the Mississauga, Burlington, Hamilton, Brant, and Haldimand-Norfolk communities.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for regular monitoring and provision of support to clients to enable them to remain in their own homes and live as independently as possible. Duties include monitoring, observing, assisting with and participating in housekeeping and homemaking activities, recreational and social activities. Limited personal care is required in this role. Ideal for individuals with no experience but looking to get into the healthcare field.

Responsibilities

Provides support with the activities of daily living such as personal grooming and hair washing. Provides assistance with social and recreational activities. Provides companionship either in the home or in the community. Provides light housekeeping and homemaking services. Carries out light housekeeping such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning showers, sinks and toilets. Cleans stoves, fridges and other kitchen equipment as necessary. Organizes rooms, dressers, closets, etc., as requested. Removes garbage and recycling. Job Types: Casual, Permanent Starting

Hourly Rate
