About the role

Provide non-medical personal support, life-skills assistance, and light housekeeping to help clients live independently. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care and escorting clients to various appointments.

We are currently hiring Part Time Personal Attendants to join our AbleLiving, York Team!

Our York Program is a supportive housing program located in Downtown Hamilton in an apartment setting.

This program operates 7 days a week and candidates need to be flexible and available for a variety of shifts including days, afternoons, and nights.

This includes every other weekend and statutory holidays.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for providing non-medical personal support services, life-skills support and light housekeeping duties to enable clients to remain in their own homes and live as independently as possible. Duties include assisting clients with personal care, arranging and escorting clients to appointments, and housekeeping services. Personal Support Worker certificate is not required but is considered an asset. We welcome candidates with any previous caregiving experience. Employment Requirements: High School Diploma Courses relating to personal support services for persons with disabilities or seniors, health & safety, first aid, physical and emotional needs of persons is an asset. Experience providing support for persons with disabilities or seniors on a paid or voluntary basis either in a work setting or through personal life experiences is beneficial. Starting

$25.43 AbleLiving Services is a non-profit organization providing personal support services to adults with disabilities living within their own home or one of our independent living facilities. Our clients direct and customize the services they receive and we support them to maximize their independence and enhance their quality of life. We provide services across the Golden Horseshoe in the Mississauga, Burlington, Stoney Creek, Brant County, and Hamilton communities. *Please be advised that this posting is open to members of S.E.I.U. bargaining unit.
