About the role

The Registered Nurse will perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer complex therapies, and coordinate care plans with interdisciplinary teams. They are responsible for maintaining accurate electronic health records and advocating for patient safety in an acute care setting.

Location: Cozad, NE

Pay: $2,074 per week

Job Type: Full-Time, Travel / Contract (13 Weeks)

Job Summary

Are you an experienced Medical-Surgical RN seeking your next travel assignment? We are hiring dedicated, adaptable Travel RNs to deliver high-quality inpatient care to diverse adult patient populations on general Med-Surg units in Cozad, NE.

In this role, you will lead comprehensive patient assessments, coordinate care plans, administer complex therapies, and facilitate safe transitions through discharge. Perfect for nurses who thrive in dynamic acute care environments and value schedule versatility.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Assessment

Perform ongoing patient assessments, monitor vital signs, interpret lab values, and evaluate patient responses to medical treatments.

Medication & Procedures

Safely administer medications, injections, and therapies; maintain IV access, perform complex wound care, dressing changes, and specimen collections.

Care Coordination

Partner with physicians, case managers, and therapy staff to adjust care plans, conduct interdisciplinary rounds, and prepare patients and families for post-discharge care.

EHR Documentation

Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic health record (EHR) entries for all assessments, interventions, and care responses.

Patient Advocacy

Escalating clinical changes to medical providers promptly to ensure safety and clinical quality.

Requirements: & Qualifications

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.

Licensure

Active and unencumbered Nebraska RN license or a valid Multistate/Compact RN license.

Certifications

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. (ACLS or PALS preferred depending on unit assignment).

Experience

Minimum 1–2 years of recent acute care inpatient Med-Surg experience.

Key Skills

Proficiency in acute care standards and EHR systems.

Demonstrated ability to manage multi-patient assignments with changing priorities.

Strong critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and clear clinical communication.

Shift Flexibility

Must be willing and open to working both Day and Night 12-hour shifts as needed by the facility.

Preferred Qualifications

BSN degree.
