Perform payroll duties including reconciliation of benefits and general deductions to provider statements.
Ensure timely remittance of premiums and deductions.
Maintain employee records on benefit payments.
Key deduction and benefits adjustments.
Provide information to staff and outside sources (CRA, union associations, HBT, PBC).
Apply and administer interpretations of collective agreement provisions regarding benefit information.
Process group documents for billable services, adjustments, refunds, and payments.
Reconcile designated accounts by matching payments received, refunds, and invoices issued; identify and trace differences; prepare adjustment information.
Bill self-pay patients, sundry accounts, and provincial/federal agencies by verifying charges and eligibility and completing supporting documentation.
Prepare, batch, and input data using a computerized database program; create batch control totals and detect input errors.
Adjust billing information based on additional information from patients, other departments, interface reports, and departmental staff; forward discrepancies to the manager as required.
Process payments by receiving payments, entering cash receipts journal entries, balancing and summarizing accounts, and posting to accounts receivable ledger.
Follow up on delinquent accounts by requesting overdue reports, handling correspondence and inquiries, sending reminders/re-billings, and tracing accounts.
Maintain departmental filing systems and retrieve files as requested.
Maintain extended care patient trust accounts, including deposits, charges, and preparing trust account statements.
Perform other related duties as assigned

Successful completion of a recognized payroll course.
Three years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
