The Registered Nurse will provide compassionate, person-centered palliative care to residents at the Bender House. Responsibilities include assessing and managing palliative symptoms while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

This is an 18 month term position to fill a maternity leave with the understanding that the term could be ended early, with 2 weeks notice.
Huron Hospice Bender House is a small, residential hospice on 12 acres of land, just outside Clinton, ON. Our outside grounds are beautiful, but it is the inside of the house that makes it special. Bender House is an intimate space where families gather to create as many memories as possible, as their loved ones come to their end of their lives. Our team of skilled RNs and RPNs, along with our compassionate volunteers and committed Leadership group, ensure that all feel well cared for when they enter though the doors.
The successful candidate for this position will have excellent communication skills, be able to quickly establish meaningful relationships, be skilled in the assessment and management of palliative symptoms and ensure that all domains of person-centered care are addressed. The candidate will demonstrate an ability to work with a variety of people and in a variety of clinical situations. They will be comfortable working independently as well as being part of a team and will be able to adapt to the varied and changing needs of the residents in our care. The successful candidate will be committed to ongoing learning and growth opportunities.
This is a day/night 12 hour rotation and some flexibility may be required. There are opportunities to pick up additional shifts if desired. This position includes access to an Employee and Family Assistance Program and an additional 12% in lieu of vacation and benefits. The salary range of this position is between $43.04 to $48.35 (this includes 12% in lieu of vacation and benefits) and is based on experience and education and will be determined at time of hire.

Candidates must be a Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) with at least one year of nursing experience. Current BCLS certification and proficiency with computer systems like Outlook and Microsoft Word are required.
