Position Summary

The successful candidates will work with a team of professionals in screening referrals, writing exercise prescriptions, leading exercise classes, performing risk-factor counseling and establishing appropriate treatment plans based on the patient's assessment and medical history.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology, or equivalent.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have a ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) Certification.
  • Previous experience in cardiovascular rehabilitation, including experience with a track-based program.
  • Excellent motivational, organizational, educational, leadership, problem solving, and interpersonal skills are required in order to respond to the program needs.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of exercise physiology, correct exercise technique and the ability to read electrocardiograms.
  • Knowledge of cardiac medications, physiology and coronary risk factors is also essential.
  • Exemplary attendance and performance record required.
