About the role

The laboratory technologist is responsible for performing routine tests and procedures within the Hematology and Transfusion Medicine Laboratory. The role requires flexibility to work across multiple hospital sites and availability for all shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine tests and procedures within the Hematology and Transfusion Medicine Laboratory. The successful candidate will be required to work all shifts - Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of a recognized program for Medical Laboratory Technologists
  • Graduating students waiting for exam results are encouraged to apply
  • Registered and a member in good standing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (C.M.L.T.O)
  • Experience and demonstrated understanding of quality assurance and good laboratory practice
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates high degree of initiative and self direction
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Participation in continuing education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Recent experience working in Hematology and Transfusion Medicine
  • Candidate must be available for all shifts
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance record required
  • Flexibility to work across THP sites - CVH, MH, QHC

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technologist program and hold registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (C.M.L.T.O). Recent experience in Hematology and Transfusion Medicine is required, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
