About the role

Provide patient-centered care within the Registered Practical Nurse scope of practice in Surgical Services.

Support patients throughout their perioperative journey, including pre-operative teaching and surgical preparation.

Assist the surgical team in the Operating Room, including scrub duties during procedures.

Deliver post-operative care, including Level II recovery support and discharge education.

Assist in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing care of patients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Promote patient health, recovery, and well-being through supportive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative nursing interventions.

Contribute to safe, effective, and compassionate patient care while adhering to College of Nurses of Ontario standards and best practices.

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to achieve positive patient outcomes

Requirements

Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse. Current BCLS. Scrubbing competence in all surgical services. Minimum of two years RPN experience in acute care. Completion of post-diploma Perioperative Nursing Certificate Program. IV Certification.
