Salary Range

$40.73 to $50.91 Hours: 37.5 hours per week Shifts: Variable shifts; Including Weekends Status: Temporary Full Time

Position Summary

The Peter Munk Cardiac Centre (PMCC) program provides world-class cardiovascular care. One of the largest programs of its kind in North America, we are a major referral centre. Our program offers resources and expertise prepared to deal with even the most complex patient cases.

The position presents an excellent opportunity to work in a fast paced environment using state of the art technology to perform echocardiograms on a uniquely complex patient population.

Duties

Perform ultrasound imaging procedures, as outlined in the procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis and/or treatment Operating, troubleshooting and ensuring ultrasound, echocardiology/ancillary equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner Preparing written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results Performing other related patient handling responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care Participating in teaching, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities Observing and understanding Hospital and departmental policies and procedures; adhering to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality

Qualifications

Completion of a recognized post diploma Cardiovascular Principles and Instrumentation (C.P.I.) program Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.), Level II Basic Rescuer Certification Minimum of two (2) years recent cardiac ultrasound experience Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills Excellent hand-eye coordination Ability to function effectively in stressful situations Computer literacy required Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) Registration with Sonography Canada or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
