  • Job Title Patient Service Clerk Program & Department Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre -> Medicine Program -> Integrated Stroke & Rehab IP Regular / Temporary Regular Full / Part Time Part-Time Temporary End Date (Anticipated) Union Non Union Requisition Close Date 17 August 2026 Salary Plan / Job Grade $31.08 - $36.41 ( NU_03 ) Job Posting Reason Current Vacancy Job Summary & Requirements The Integrated Stroke Unit and Rehabilitation Inpatient is a 40 bed unit that oversees the acute care needs of patients that have had a stroke, and as soon as they are ready and appropriate for rehabilitation, moves them right into the intensive rehabilitation program. The unit provides best practice stroke care and follows evidence-based clinical pathways. The unit uses evidence-based screening tools, techniques, and equipment to develop each patients' needs and functional goals. The team consists of physicians, registered nurses, registered practical nurses, patient care assistants, dietitians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a discharge planner, social worker, a respiratory therapist, a speech language pathologist, a chaplain, unit clerks, and volunteers. Each member has a specific role to play to ensure seamless integration of care and together, they strive to provide exceptional care to each patient and family. As the Patient Services Clerk you will be is responsible for reception, communication and clerical duties of the unit in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies and standards of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre. As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:
  • Medical Office Administration Certificate/Diploma or Equivalent Program essential
  • Office administration experience in a hospital environment or equivalent Competencies:
  • Computer literacy - Microsoft Office – essential II. Keyboarding skills – 50wpm – essential
  • Current experience with Meditech, including registration, EMR, order entry and appointment scheduling an asset
  • Current experience in the processing of physicians orders an asset You will be a great fit for this position if you have:

Requirements

Medical Office Administration Certificate/Diploma or equivalent program (essential).

Office administration experience in a hospital environment or equivalent.

Computer literacy including Microsoft Office (essential).

Keyboarding skills of 50 wpm (essential).

Current experience with Meditech including registration, EMR, order entry, and appointment scheduling (asset).

Current experience processing physicians' orders (asset).
