August 21, 2026 Job Summary The Rehabilitation Pain Service at Toronto Rehab is seeking an experienced and innovative Registered Kinesiologist (R. Kin) to join our interdisciplinary team. This role provides an opportunity to work with individuals living with chronic pain and complex health conditions in a specialized outpatient rehabilitation setting. As an integral member of the team, the Registered Kinesiologist delivers evidence-informed assessment, treatment, education, and exercise programming to support patients in improving function, self-management, and quality of life. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with physicians, physiotherapists, social workers, occupational therapy and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. The role of the Kinesiologist is to:

Duties

Conduct comprehensive physical and functional assessments for patients with chronic pain and complex rehabilitation needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using therapeutic exercise, education, and self-management strategies. Facilitate individual and group-based rehabilitation programs, including exercise and hydrotherapy sessions. Support patients in adopting sustainable health behaviour changes to improve function and participation in daily activities. Monitor patient outcomes and modify treatment plans as appropriate. Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers. Participate in professional practice, departmental, and organizational initiatives. Complying with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. Current registration in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant clinical experience. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (Level C – Heart Saver Plus). Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitation principles and patient-centered care in an outpatient setting. Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively both independently and within an interdisciplinary team. Ability and willingness to lead hydrotherapy sessions. Openness to integrating cognitive-behavioural-therapy strategies, mindfulness, and/or relaxation techniques into the therapeutic approach an asset. Openness to participating in research an asset. Experience with chronic pain or chronic fatigue an asset. Basic Cardiac Life Support (C Level) Heart Saver Plus Canada. Knowledge of the rehabilitation approach to patient care in an outpatient setting. Ability to lead hydrotherapy sessions in the pool. Experience working with individuals living with chronic pain, chronic fatigue, and/or other complex disabilities. Experience supporting patients with overlapping physical and mental health needs.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and current registration with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. A minimum of five years of clinical experience and current BCLS certification are required for this position.
