Provide daily direct care for assigned Cardiology patients in the Cardiac Intervention Unit pre and post area.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in compliance with the scope of practice.
Continuously modify the plan of care based on patient outcomes.
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop, review, modify, and update the patient’s plan of care.
Communicate changes in patient status to MRP and Resource/Charge Nurse Professional Care.

Act as a patient advocate.

Document care and assessments in the clinical record per RVH policies and College of Nurses standards.
Complete workload measurement.
Ensure timely acceptance of patients using PULL methodology and support patient flow reduction.
Participate in rounds/communication boards/daily communication as required.
Identify barriers to daily patient flow and participate in interprofessional plans to meet Expected Date of Discharge (EDD).

Reporting to the Cardiac Intervention Unit & Cardiac Care Unit Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who is responsible for the provision of optimal care for Cardiology patients undergoing various procedures within a cardiac intervention unit & pre/post procedure area. This posting is to work within the Catheterization Lab until August 1, 2027.
Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
Coronary Care I & II required.
Current BCLS required.
Current ACLS required.
Critical Care Certificate preferred or completion within two years of hire.
Minimum one (1) year of critical care experience (or equivalent ED/CCU or ICU experience).
Previous Cardiac Intervention Unit experience required for Cath Lab vacancies.
Previous pre and post experience required for pre & post area vacancies.
Experience with aortic hemodynamic monitoring required.
Groin management experience required.
Experience with pacemaker device analyzing/programming required.
Strong background in cardiovascular physiology, electrocardiography, and rhythm interpretation required.
Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump experience preferred.
Must pass a screening arrhythmia quiz with 80% to move to interview phase.
