Position Overview Under the general direction of the Manager, Pharmacy, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Pharmacist is responsible for performing clinical and distributive activities: ensuring that drug therapy ordered for inpatients and outpatients is safe, efficient and effective; clarifying medication orders and intervening when appropriate; verifying drug orders on a patient’s profile; overseeing the processing of prescriptions and sterile products and approving the final products; compounding sterile and extemporaneous products as required; promoting safe medication practices; performing therapeutic drug monitoring on selected patients and educating patients on medication use; assisting in the training/teaching of new pharmacists, support staff, and students, and participating in educational sessions; and performing other related duties as assigned. One (1) to three (3) years hospital pharmacy practice preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
A Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy is required. Pharmacy Residency preferred.
Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada Certification required. License to practice in Manitoba required.
