  • You will work directly with individuals who may experience: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Developmental Disabilities Mental Health Challenges Schizophrenia Complex Behaviors Substance Use (Harm Reduction Approach) Trauma Histories Communication Barriers Medically Fragile Conditions Our approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, promoting dignity, choice, inclusion, and quality of life. Key Responsibilities Support individuals with daily living activities, community participation, recreation, and employment goals. Implement and monitor individualized service plans. Respond to behavioral, emotional, and personal support needs using trauma-informed practices. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency policies and provincial standards. Collaborate with families, guardians, healthcare professionals, and interdisciplinary teams. Promote independence, self-advocacy, and meaningful community inclusion. Non-Negotiable

  • To be considered for this position, candidates must: Hold a valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License. Have access to a reliable vehicle. Maintain a minimum of $2,000,000 liability vehicle insurance by the time of hire. Be comfortable swimming or willing to enter a pool while wearing a life jacket to support individuals during aquatic activities. Be comfortable working around pets and animals, including dogs and cats, in home and community environments. Qualifications & Skills Diploma or Degree in Disability Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field. Equivalent education and experience may be considered. Internationally completed education may require a WES or IQAS assessment. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Current certifications in First Aid/CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), APRP, Medication Administration, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Food Safety, or related training (or willingness to obtain). Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Search (or willingness to obtain). Intermediate computer skills. Why Join New Age Services?
