The position presents an excellent opportunity to work in a fast paced environment using state of the art technology to perform echocardiograms on a uniquely complex patient population.
Perform ultrasound imaging procedures, as outlined in the procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis and/or treatment Operating, troubleshooting and ensuring ultrasound, echocardiology/ancillary equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner Preparing written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results Performing other related patient handling responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care Participating in teaching, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
Completion of a recognized post diploma Cardiovascular Principles and Instrumentation (C.P.I.) program Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.), Level II Basic Rescuer Certification Minimum of two (2) years recent cardiac ultrasound experience Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills Excellent hand-eye coordination Ability to function effectively in stressful situations Computer literacy required Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) Registration with Sonography Canada or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
