The Registered Nurse provides breastfeeding education and clinical support to expectant and postpartum mothers to help initiate and sustain lactation. They also diagnose breastfeeding difficulties, recommend care plans, and share clinical expertise with the broader healthcare team.

Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Services or delegate promotes and supports breastfeeding for childbearing and postpartum women by assessing, planning, advising and providing care relative to breastfeeding.
Qualifications: Education and Experience
Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Graduation from an approved School of Nursing. Current certification in breastfeeding (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). Two (2) years' recent experience in neonatal or perinatal.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to deal effectively with others. Demonstrated ability to teach. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Ability to operate related equipment. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
