The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct nursing care and performs treatments to support patient comfort and recovery. They also participate in the development and implementation of nursing care plans as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Care Manager/Clinical Nurse Leader, and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care within their scope for the comfort of patients. Incumbents also perform treatments and procedures to aid in supportive and curative measures for patient care and participate in the development and implementation of nursing care plans.

The successful candidate is required to have a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, be currently registered with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA) and have current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R) certification. Practicum placements during Degree program in areas related to acute care, any specialty service area (i.e. Maternity/ED), hospitals or health centers focusing on the health of First Nations, Inuit, Metis populations is desired.
