About the role

The Rehabilitation Aide implements patient programming under the direction of Occupational and Physical Therapists to improve resident independence. They are responsible for preparing equipment, managing adaptive aids, and communicating changes in resident function to the clinical team.

Job Description

This position is for our Hillcrest Place Home, located in Brandon, Manitoba. What you’ll be doing Working closely with nursing this position is directly accountable to the Occupational Therapist (OT) / Physio Therapist (PT) and Resident Program Manager. Implements the maintenance of patient programming under the direction of the OT/PT. Communicate changes in resident abilities and function to the OT/PT, the unit nurses and the Nursing Rehab lead, to complete the program assigned. Prepares apparatus and equipment required for the program. Working closely with the wheelchair companies to ensure that the resident adaptive aids are safe and functional. Help residents learn skills needed for daily living to improve or maintain resident’s abilities to function independently. They also assist in showing residents how to set up and use equipment such as wheelchairs, braces, and walkers. What you bring Post-secondary Therapy assistant diploma or equivalent. Knowledge / experience working within Rehabilitation and/ or Health Care geriatric population for both well and the cognitively impaired. Requirements
