About the role

The Program Officer provides administrative, operational, and research support to the Laboratory of Behavioural Neuroendocrinology. Key duties include coordinating laboratory activities, managing regulatory compliance, and assisting with scientific communications and grant applications.

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Program Officer to support the Laboratory of Behavioural Neuroendocrinology within the Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute. Working closely with the Principal Investigator (PI), the Program Officer will provide administrative, operational, and research support to facilitate the day-to-day activities of the laboratory.

The successful candidate will primarily support the administrative and operational functions of the laboratory, assisting the PI and Research Lab Manager with research coordination, scientific communications, regulatory compliance, and general laboratory administration. Responsibilities will include coordinating meetings and calendars, preparing correspondence, maintaining CVs and academic documentation, coordinating travel arrangements, assisting with procurement and financial administration, preparing reports and presentations, and supporting donor, grant, and project reporting.

The successful candidate will also contribute to scientific communication and knowledge translation activities by assisting with the preparation and formatting of manuscripts, grant applications, reports, presentations, posters, and other research materials. Experience with graphic design, figure preparation, data visualization, and maintaining professional academic documents, including CVs, publication records, and other laboratory materials, will be considered an asset. The Program Officer will contribute to a collaborative, organized, and inclusive research environment while supporting the laboratory’s commitment to scientific excellence, regulatory compliance, and responsible conduct of research.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Biology, or a related field with at least two years of administrative or research support experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with scientific visualization software is strongly preferred.
