We are currently hiring an Overnight Caregiver for a long-term home care client. This position offers consistent overnight hours in a calm home environment. This is an awake shift for safety.
Job Summary The Overnight Caregiver works under the direction of the Care Coordinator and Nursing Team to provide overnight supervision, companionship, and safety support to a client living independently at home. The role focuses on ensuring the client's comfort and well-being throughout the night while following an individualized care plan.
Provide overnight supervision and ensure client safety Offer companionship and reassurance as needed Monitor for any changes in the client's condition and report concerns Assist with light housekeeping related to the overnight shift Prepare light snacks or beverages if required Ensure the home remains safe and secure throughout the night Follow the individualized care plan Complete accurate documentation and charting in WellSky Communicate effectively with the office and care team regarding any significant observations
Registered Care Aide (RCA), Health Care Assistant (HCA), Nursing Student, or equivalent experience in caregiving Experience working with seniors, particularly those living with dementia, is an asset Calm, patient, compassionate, and reliable Strong observation and communication skills Ability to work independently overnight Current Criminal Record Check (or willingness to obtain one) Negative TB skin test or chest X-ray Reliable transportation Access to a smartphone and internet Legally eligible to work in Canada
